Domain names are Internet addresses, and their main function is to make it possible for users to browse the web. Domain names identify firms and their products on the Internet.

There are two types of Domain Names::

Internet's Representation in Spain is ES-NIC, an organization depending on the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, handling the registration of second level domain (.es).

In addition to a series of grammatical rules and absolute prohibitions of contents (common with the gTLD´s .com, .net and .org), there are several indispensable conditions to apply for a domain (.es).
